Space weather has significant impact on the operation of communication means and complex engineering systems. Changes in Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) Bz-component cause energy penetration into geospheric shells and generation of negative factors. AE-index is one of the main parameters to estimate energy impact into the magnetosphere and ionosphere. The paper applies regression analysis apparatus and wavelet transformations to estimate the influence of interplanetary medium dynamics on AE-index. IMF Bz data for 1999-2018 were used. Frequency ranges of IMF Bz variations, having the greatest impact on AE-index changes, were determined.
