Researchers of IKIR FEB RAS participated in the International Conference “Science on Data, Geoiformatics and System Analysis in the Investigations of the Earth” in Suzdal

The event was held on 25-27 September, 2024, and was devoted to the 70-th anniversary of the Geophysical Center of RAS (GC RAS) and to the 300-th year anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Leading researchers of Russia and from abroad met in Suzdal to discuss the problems of statistical analysis, geoinformatics, theory and practice of big data in the sciences on the Earth. The Conference was notable for the wast geography of the participants and very intensive work schedule (more than 130 were made at eight scientific sections during the two days).

IKIR FEB RAS researchers made the following presentations:

- "An Intelligent Method for Detecting Forbush Effects in Cosmic Ray Variations", poster presentation by the Leading Researcher of the Laboratory of System Analysis, Dr. of Sci. (Tech.) Mandrikova O.V., “Geomagnetism and space weather” Section;

- "Problems of processing of initial data from magnetic observatories: will modern mathematical technologies help?”, presentation by the Leading Researcher of the Complex Geophysical Observatory “Paratunka”, Cand. of Sci. (Phys.-Math.) Khomutov S.Yu., “Instrumentation for the investigations in the sciences on the Earth” Section;

- "Modeling of the distribution of postament magnetic field at a magnetic observatory”, poster presentation by the Leading Researcher of the Complex Geophysical Observatory “Paratunka”, Cand. Of Sci. (Phys.-Math.) Khomutov S.Yu., and by the Senior Researcher of the Complex Geophysical Observatory “Paratunka”, Cand. of Sci. (Tech.) Gvozdarev A.Yu., “Instrumentation for the investigations in the sciences on the Earth” Section.

Participants of the Conference have the possibility to publish their papers, prepared on the basis of the presentations and reviewed by the specialists, in a special issue of the Russian Journal of Earth Sciences.
