"Software for automatization of theoretical estimates of empirical laws of aftershock expectance time distributions and parameters of Mittag-Leffler approximating function" has been developed

The author is a researcher of the Laboratory of Physical Process Modeling of IKIR FEB RAS, Cand. of Sci. (Tech.), Sheremeteva Olga Vladimirovna.

The software is aimed at automatization of theoretical estimates required for construction of empirical laws of aftershock expectance time distributions in the subduction zone of Kurils-Kamchatka island arc based on the data of Kamchatka Branch of Geophysical Survey Service RAS (http://www.gsras.ru/new/eng/catalog/) and their approximation by the Mittag-Leffler function.

Algorithm for construction of the empirical function w(t ≥ T) of aftershock occurrence relative frequency distribution depending on time until the main event of a specified energy class were developed on the basis of the statistical model of aftershock regime.

The software can be applied for other regions if data representation in a seismic catalogue is similar to that accepted in the Kamchatka Branch of Geophysical Survey Service RAS .

Functional capabilities of the software are the following: the software distributes the events into energy classes, determines aftershocks of main events of a defined class, estimates general statistics of aftershocks, statistics of aftershocks of a defined class, empirical function of aftershock expectance time distribution and parameters of the approximating Mittag-Leffler function. The software was developed in the form of a separately executable module and does not require any special computer products.
