Agreement on scientific cooperation between IKIR FEB RAS and Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GC RAS) has been signed

The subject of the Agreement is joint research.

Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GC RAS) began its history on July 19, 1954 when the USSR Government decided to participate in the International Geophysical Year.

In January 1961, Interdepartment Geophysical Committee (MGC) of the USSR Academy of Sciences (AS) was founded by the solution of the USSR Council of Ministers.

The GC RAS got is current status as the research institute by the Decree of the RAS Presidium on June 23, 1992 by reorganizing the Interdepartment Geophysical Committee (IGC) of USSR AS.

The main aims of the GC RAS are fundamental scientific investigations and application development in the fields of geophysics, geoinformatics and system analysis.
