A new mathematical model of electric field strength dynamics in convective clouds of mixed structure has been presented. Compared to classic approaches, the suggested model takes into account fractal properties of cloud structure and its characteristic parameter of fractional structure.
The model is based on the application of fractional integro-differential apparatus and is solved by nonlocal explicit finite-difference scheme of first-order accuracy. The obtained results were visualized in Python environment. The results showed that the structure of cumulus-nimbus clouds, having fractal nature in time, directly affects the electrodynamic in-cloud processes.
Within the framework of the model, the property of cloud environment fractality is considered though fenomenological parameters, determining the intensity of electric field strength dynamics in cumulus-nimbus clouds. The suggested approach is applicable as a qualitative addition of the thunderstorm electricity theory, positioning a cloud as a natural object with fractal structure.
