Agreement between IKIR FEB RAS and IPGG SB RAS, Novosibirsk, has been signed

The Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPGG SB RAS), was established in 2005 based on a merge of three RAS Institutions: Institute of Petroleum Geology, Institute of Geophysics, and Design and Technology Institute for Environmental and Geophysical Instrument Engineering. There are 39 scientific laboratories in IPGG SB RAS.

The Geophysical Observatory was organized in 1962. Continuous observations of cosmic rays, geomagnetic field and ionosphere have been carried out here from the end of 60’s.

The concluded Agreement on cooperation has become the result of experience exchange between Kamchatka and Novosibirsk scientists during the XIV International Conference «Solar-Terrestrial Relations and Physics of Earthquake Precursors», which took place in IKIR FEB RAS (Paratunka, Kamchatskiy kray) from September 29 to October 3, 2025.
