The scientific Journal «Bulletin KRASEC. Physical and Mathematical Sciences» celebrates its 15-year anniversary. Our congratulations!

The Leading Researcher at IKIR FEB RAS, Dr. Sci. (Phys.-Math.), Senior Lecturer, Prof. Parovik Roman Ivanovich, has told about the results of the activities of the scientific Journal «Bulletin KRASEC. Physical and Mathematical Sciences» over these years and perspectives of its development. The scientific Journal «Bulletin KRASEC.

Physical and Mathematical Sciences» was registered in 2010 and since 2016 has published 4 print and electronic issues every year in the Russian and English languages (ISSN: 2079-6641 and ISSN: 2079-665X, respectively). Issue volume reaches 250 pages.

The Journal hold to transparent policy and publication ethics. The Journal politics and publication rules are described more in detail on its official site https://krasec.ru/. The Journal is peer-reviewed, leading researchers on the main fields (sections) of an issue are invited for expert assessment.

The Journal publishes the results of fundamental and applied investigations in the field of Physical and Mathematical sciences: Mathematics, mathematical modeling, Physics, information and computation technologies, instrumentation and measurement methods. Distribution of publications into scientific fields from 2010 to 2024 is illustrated in Fig. 2.

kr2

It is clear that the prevailing part of the papers was published on Mathematics and Physics (Geophysics). Based on these data, the Journal was included into the e-library Science Index list on the Subjects «Mathematics» and «Physics». Fig. 3 shows the Journal rate in the Science Index list for 2010-2024, normalized to 1000.

kr3

In 2024 the Journal took 1510 place in the overall rating of Science Index (Fig. 4), rising during 2023 from 1854 to 1585 place (269 points). This was determined by the connection to e-library Science Space system in 2025 that made it possible to correct some references in the Journal papers.

Science Space is an information-analytical system intended for scientific information publishers and it allows them to solve effectively a number of problems, occurring during the publication process activities. Science Space gives additional instruments for bibliometric analysis of the publications in their journals.

The 1510 place is a very important stage in the development of our Journal. The journals, which take places up to 1500, can apply to be included into the RSCI core (Russian Science Citation Index), which is a list of the best Russian scientific journals selected on the basis of quality criteria and included into the Web of Science and Scopus data bases for their Russian-language version (RSCI). The rate in Science Index list depends on the number of citations from RSCI and from the RSCI core (Scopus, WOS) the most. It is illustrated in Fig. 5 for the scientific journal «Bulletin KRASEC. Physical and Mathematical Sciences».

kr5

Here we see the increase in the citation number, including self-citing over the latest 14 years. Citation plays an important role in the formation of the Journal impact-factor, a quantitative index reflecting average frequency of citing of the papers published in a journal over a certain period. Fig. 6 shows two-year impact factor for the scientific journal «Bulletin KRASEC. Physical and Mathematical Sciences» with respect to the RSCI core and the RSCI without self-siting.

Herfindal (Hirschman) index for author’s organizations is estimated as a sum of squares of percentage fractions of the number of papers published by different organizations with respect to the total number of papers in a journal in the current year, in which the organization is identified. The more the number of different organizations is, the authors of which are published in a journal, and the more uniformly the papers are spread among them, the less this index is. The maximum value is 10000 and it is achieved when authors only from one organization are published in a journal. This index shows if this journal is «domestic».

Herfindal index for citing journals is determined in a similar way. The maximum value is 10000, for which the references are taken only from one journal, i.e. total self-citing. Fig. 7 shows the Herfindal index of the scientific journal «Bulletin KRASEC. Physical and Mathematical Sciences» for authors’ organization (on the left) and for citing journals (on the right).

The Journal is in the list of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles since January 15, 2018 up to the present time as the one included into International abstracting databases and citing systems (MathSiNet, zbMath), in which main scientific results of dissertations for the Candidate and Doctor degrees should be published. According to the final distribution of the journals from the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles list into the categories К1, К2, К3 in 2023, our Journal fell within the category К1 (Fig. 8).

The site was developed according to Scopus requirements, passed the Elpub examination and has independent electronic redaction. Statistics of the official site https://krasec.ru/ of the scientific journal «Bulletin KRASEC. Physical and Mathematical Sciences» is illustrated in Fig. 9 (number of site sessions since January 1, 2025 till September 16, 2025) and in Fig. 10 (country distribution of site sessions since January 1, 2025 till September 16, 2025).
