Geo-radio-location survey on the territory of Karymshina expedition site of IKIR FEB RAS

The survey was carried out by the team from Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University and from IKIR FEB RAS on April 24, 2025. «Piton-3» georadar was used. It provides deep investigation of undersurface structures of ground rocks over the exploration trace by making continuous profiles.

Using this device, specialists determine detailed geological structure of ground rocks. This will allow the researchers to improve interpretation of observation results at Karymshina site, which is located 20 km from Paratunka.

Participants of the geo-radio-location survey are:

  • Pavlova V.Yu., Cand. Sci. (Geol.-Math.), Senior Lecturer in Biology and Earth’s sciences, Leading Researcher of the Scientific-Research Laboratory «Investigation of Extreme Phenomena in Kamchatka», Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University;
  • Akbashev R.R., Cand. Sci. (Phys.-Math.), Researcher of the Laboratory of Acoustic and Radon Monitoring of Kamchatka Branch of the Federal Research Center of Geophysical Survey of RAN;
  • Larionov I.A., Cand. Sci. (Phys.-Math.), Deputy Director for Science of IKIR FEB RAS;
  • Mishchenko M.A., Cand. Sci. (Phys.-Math.), Leading Researcher, Head of the Laboratory of Acoustic Research of IKIR FEB RAS;
  • Stasiy I.E., Leading Engineer of the Laboratory of Electromagnetic Radiation of IKIR FEB RAS;
  • Kaysin A.V., Leading Engineer of the Laboratory of Electromagnetic Radiation of IKIR FEB RAS.
