In the given work results of the research of magnetospheric and ionospheric eﬀects during a strong earthquake
near Magadan on December 26th, 2009 are presented. Investigations were carried out at Magadan geophysical
observatory of IKIR FEB RAS located in Stekolny, Magadan region. According to the results of ionosphere
vertical sounding we succeeded to estimate seismo-ionospheric variations of critical frequencies and of operating
heights of ionosphere layers.
