The spatial and temporal characteristics and winter stratospheric temperature wave variations measured
by a Lidar near Yakutsk at the height interval of 20-60 km were studied. The relation between temperature
variations with planetary, tidal and gravity waves during winter stratospheric warming is discussed.
Lidar temperature data analysis for the period 2004-2009 with aerologic radiosounding data and satellite
measurements showed that winter stratospheric warming consist of some short-time localized warming which is
modulated by planetary wave with wavenumber 1 and 90 day period.
