Mechanisms of generation of elastic vibrations in the frequency range 0-10 kHz are investigated using deformation and geoacoustic observations in the near-surface sediments at the final stage of earthquake preparation. It is shown that the acoustic noises occur as a result of deformation shift in the stress state environment.
