DYNAMICS OF THE BEHAVIOR OF IONOSPHERIC PARAMETERS BEFORE THE EARTHQUAKES DURING THE PERIODS FEBRUARY 28 – MARCH 1, 2013, AND MAY 19 – 24, 2013

In this article, variations of ionospheric parameters and ionospheric turbulence before and during seismic events were investigated using a set of radiophysical methods. To localize the area of occurrence of a possible seismic event, the probability-theoretic approach proposed by the authors was used. This approach made it possible to detect an increase in seismic activity in the south of Kamchatka territory from 2007 to 2013. It is established that the characteristic features of ionospheric anomalies such as the formation of K-layer (corpuscular layer due to the particle precipitation from radiation belts), an increase in the critical frequency characteristic f0F2 and the formation of F-spread, as well as Es-spread occurred approximately one day before the seismic events in February-March (28.02.-02.03) of 2013 and a few days before the series of events on May 21 and the single event on May 24, 2013.
