Analysis of probability distributions of seismic events flow before strong earthquakes based on wavelet decomposition method.

The results of processing the catalog of seismic events of the Kamchatka region for the period from July 18, 1977 to December 05, 1997 are presented. For the analysis, a method was used to calculate the probabilities of seismic events to fall within the given depth intervals (1 – 100 km). The obtained series were presented in the form of a continuous wavelet decomposition. The processing results clearly showed the general mechanism of formation of the probabilistic structure of seismic events distribution in depth and time before the strong Kronotsky earthquake.
